About the role:

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at UBQ Materials, you will be pivotal in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our mechanical installations and equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing maintenance strategies to achieve 100% Overall System & Equipment Effectiveness (OSEE) and ensure 24/7 production. You will work closely with the operations team to plan preventive maintenance, implement improvements, and minimize unplanned stops. Your expertise will help drive innovation, improve system reliability, and contribute to our state-of-the-art facility's continuous growth and success.

Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Reliability:

  • Initiating, developing, and continuously professionalizing maintenance processes and procedures for mechanical installations and equipment.
  • Developing a (multi-year) maintenance plan for mechanical installations and equipment, broken down into maintenance, replacement, and expansion, taking into account the production plan.
  • Planning and coordinating inspections and (preventive) maintenance of mechanical installations and equipment.
  • Managing the inventory of critical equipment parts and maintenance materials.
  • Co-developing the Maintenance KPI Dashboard that aligns with the plant’s growth phase.


Improvement and Communication:

  • Identifying unplanned stops and analyzing performance losses at the line or machine level, aimed at eliminating maintenance sensitivity and deviations.
  • Initiating ideas for innovation and improvement, and participating in the Change Management process.
  • Overseeing modifications and upgrades to existing mechanical installations and equipment.
  • Creating and updating technical documentation for mechanical installations and materials (drawings, material lists).
  • Keeping up-to-date with UBQ standards, mechanical systems and processes, and the associated knowledge.
  • Transferring the necessary knowledge for light maintenance of mechanical installations and equipment to colleagues.
  • Translating (new) guidelines into practical adjustments.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor (HBO) level in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
  • 3-5 years work experience in maintenance and machine safety requirements.
  • Good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience in improvement processes using (maintenance) analysis methodologies and reliability systems.
